Wien Energie, advised by E+H, acquires 49 percent of Encavis’ wind farm portfolio in Austria
E+H (Eisenberger + Herzog) advised Wien Energie GmbH on the acquisition of a 49 percent stake in the Austrian wind farms Pongratzer Kogel, Herrenstein, and Zagersdorf from wind and solar farm operator Encavis AG. The closing took place on 18 December 2020. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The three wind farms – Pongratzer Kogel, Herrenstein, and Zagersdorf – generate a total of 36.2 megawatts, and simultaneously reduce the CO2 emissions that would be required to produce this amount of energy by around 14,500 tons per year. With its main focus on photovoltaics, wind, and hydropower plants, Wien Energie is significantly strengthening its renewable energy portfolio with this acquisition.
Encavis, which is listed on the German SDAX, increases its internal financing power and further diversifies its portfolio with the sale.
The transaction was spearheaded by E+H partner and corporate law/M&A expert Mag. Marco Steiner. Other E+H advisers included: Dr. Dieter Thalhammer (partner, antitrust law), Dr. Tatjana Katalan (partner, public law), Mag. Christoph Lejsek (attorney, corporate law/M&A), Mag.
