Vetter, one of the leading international specialists in the production of aseptically pre-filled injection systems, has successfully completed the purchase of a clinical production facility in Rankweil, Austria. The signing and closing took place on 30 June 2020.

With the new location in Austria, a counterpart to an existing clinical production facility near Chicago, USA, Vetter is expanding its presence in Europe and investing in additional capacity to meet growing global demand. Located just one hour’s drive from the company’s headquarters in Ravensburg, Germany, the new site will enable rapid and successful integration into Vetter’s existing clinical operations. The new facility is scheduled to open and go live in 2021, following the conversion and adaptation of the acquired site to Vetter’s highly specialised standards.

Eisenberger & Herzog advised on the cross-border transaction under the lead of partners Dr. Alric Ofenheimer and Dr. Clemens Lanschützer.

“It was acutely challenging to handle the due diligence and almost all contract negotiations from the home office, under the demanding circumstances of the Corona-related lockdown,” says Alric Ofenheimer. “We are therefore all the more pleased that the increasing digitalisation of our firm enabled us to complete the transaction so quickly for our client despite the difficult circumstances.”

“We were also able to handle the cross-border transaction smoothly thanks to the many years of excellent cooperation between our firm and the team around attorney Dr. Henning Blaufuß, of the Munich law firm Peters, Schönberger & Partner,” adds Clemens Lanschützer.

Peters, Schönberger & Partner, permanent advisor to Vetter, acted in the transaction under the lead of partner Dr. Henning Blaufuß.

“Alric Ofenheimer, Clemens Lanschützer, and their team are extremely experienced and goal-oriented partners, who we have relied on time and again. The two firms were connected digitally and personally to act in unison in difficult corona times, which contributed significantly to the success of the transaction,” says Henning Blaufuß, summarising the cooperation of the multinational team.
